Plans for a Lidl discount grocery store are moving forward in Somerdale along White Horse Pike and Evergreen Avenue. Revised plans have been submitted following earlier approvals granted several years ago.
The proposed store footprint has been reduced from earlier designs. The updated plan calls for approximately 23,500 square feet of grocery space.
In addition to the grocery store, a separate restaurant with a drive-thru is being proposed on the site. The restaurant would be located closer to White Horse Pike.
The redevelopment site previously housed Two Z’s Tavern and related parcels extending toward Grace Street. As a result, the project represents a significant redevelopment of the corridor.
Next, the proposal is scheduled for review by the Somerdale Planning and Zoning Board. The hearing is expected to take place later this month.
