Wayfair Plans Cherry Hill Store

Wayfair Plans 86,000 SF Cherry Hill Store

Furniture and home goods retailer Wayfair is expanding into the Greater Philadelphia market with a new Cherry Hill location. The company plans to open an 86,000-square-foot store at Market Place at Garden State Park in late 2028.

Located at Route 70 and Haddonfield Road, the shopping center is a major retail destination in South Jersey. The new store will become Wayfair’s 11th physical retail location and its first in the Philadelphia region.

The single-story store will feature furniture, home goods, and complimentary design services. Additionally, Wayfair plans to occupy existing retail space rather than construct an entirely new building.

Although the company has not confirmed its exact location within the center, available space could accommodate the expansion. Marketing materials previously identified approximately 48,000 square feet formerly occupied by Christmas Tree Shops.

That space sits between Macy’s and Dick’s Sporting Goods. However, Wayfair has not confirmed whether the former Christmas Tree Shops location will become part of its new store.

Market Place at Garden State Park already features several prominent national retailers. Major tenants include Wegmans, The Home Depot, Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Macy’s.

Notably, Macy’s opened a smaller-format, 37,700-square-foot store in 2024 within the former Bed Bath & Beyond space. The latest announcement further highlights the shopping center’s ability to attract national retail concepts.

The property is owned by a joint venture between Edgewood Properties and JMP Holdings, operating as M&M Realty Partners.

Wayfair’s Cherry Hill expansion follows another major New Jersey store announcement. The retailer previously revealed plans for a 135,000-square-foot Princeton location expected to open in 2027.

Together, these developments demonstrate Wayfair’s growing investment in physical retail locations. The company is expanding beyond its traditional online model to offer customers an in-person shopping experience.

For South Jersey commercial real estate, the Cherry Hill project represents another significant commitment to established retail space. Large-format retailers can help reposition existing properties while attracting additional customers to surrounding businesses.

Wayfair’s planned opening also reinforces Cherry Hill’s position as a major shopping destination within the Greater Philadelphia region.
